As I approached the men’s soccer game, Sept. 27, the first thing I saw was the full moon over Scotts Miracle Gro Field. The Wildcats were in a battle with the very aggressive Emmanuel Saints. It was a cold airy night as the moon moved further and the game got more intense. The Saints kept provoking the wildcats.
Eventually, the wildcats turned with the moon and scored the first goal of the game in an almost werewolf-like manner, with 15 minutes left in the game. This goal was scored by Aidan Bagley, a Graduate Student from Rhode Island and was the only goal of the game. Bagley followed the moon from his Undergraduate school Merrimack to JWU.
Despite their 3 shots on goal, the Saints were no match for the wolfed out Wildcats. The full moon’s effect on JWU’s Wildcat seemed to have lasting results for the Men’s Soccer Team as they pulled out 2 more wins over the next week.
Stay tuned for the start of Herald’s Coaches Corner next week when we deep dive into the world of Volleyball through the eyes of Coach Houlihan.
