New year, new you. A new year symbolizes a fresh start, meaning to keep an eye open for upcoming trends. This implies it is time to leave some trends behind in 2023 and bring something new for this upcoming year. But that doesn't mean you have to throw away everything in your closet just yet. In this article, you will see what to keep in and out of your wardrobe for this upcoming year. 

What to keep in are essential staple pieces, especially for this weather, such as jackets, jeans, sweaters, and boots. Simple pieces that can be mixed and matched for an everyday activity. 

One thing that should be out in 2024 is food-themed beauty trends. A new TikTok beauty trend that is named after food like the strawberry girl makeup, blueberry milk nails, glazed donuts nails, and latte makeup; while some of these trends are cute, the names of the trends are considered a bit ridiculous and make people question the trend, which is why we need to leave them behind.

Something we should keep "In" is the coquette aesthetic. While the trend is known as bows and pink, it is more than that. It is a timeless aesthetic because it draws inspiration from classic beauty elements. It is also empowering because it shows and embraces femininity and celebrates self-expression.  

For 2024, we need to leave out Barbie Core. While we will always love pink, the Barbie core will always be significant in 2023. This is why we need to leave it out of 2024 and have a new trend that will significantly impact the year. 

Looking forward, that would be "In" are slim pants, while oversized pants will always be in. One thing that we will see going forward in 2024 is slim pants. They are not too thin or big; they have the perfect balance and are comfortable for the New Year. 

One thing we should keep out is shield sunglasses; while they are perfect for protecting someone from the sun, they are very hard to style. This is why we should trade them for classic sunglasses that are easy and simple to style.

A critical essential that we should keep is Oversized blazers, especially this winter. Oversized blazers are a must to look cute and stay warm. Expect to see them around this Fall.  Another thing we should keep out are transparent handbags; while, for many other reasons, transparent handbags can work, we should leave them out mainly for safety reasons when it comes to handbags. 

The last thing we should keep "In" is bold jewelry. Jewelry is something that will always be in style. It will help make any jewelry look excellent and stylish. Any kind of jewelry, whether silver, gold, gemstone, or pendant, will help elevate your style, and it will always stay in style. It can help express who you are and showcase your taste and personality. 

One of the biggest things that needs to be out is judging someone's style. Clothing represents who someone is; it is never anybody's place to feel somebody's clothing. One thing that we should keep is styling for ourselves.
