Having certain dietary restrictions can make it challenging to pick a restaurant. Have no fear, though, because Providence has plenty of restaurants with various cuisines that can accommodate you or a valentine with dietary restrictions such as vegan or vegetarian.
One option is Mokban Korean Bistro, located on Westminster St; this restaurant is just a short walk from the Johnson & Wales Providence Campus. The restaurant’s Chef, Yosub Yoon, happens to be a JWU Alum. Mokban Korean Bistro has a good selection of vegan dishes or meals that can be modified to be vegan. They even have a vegan menu, if you ask.
Another option is Xaco Taco, which is also walkable from the Johnson & Wales Providence Campus. Xaco Taco offers “Mexican street food with a modern twist,” according to their website. Xaco Taco’s menu uses “V” for vegetarian and “Vv” for vegan options.
Additionally, Kabob and Curry, located on Thayer St, is the farthest walk but is another excellent option for individuals with dietary restrictions. A portion of their menu is labeled “Vegan Entrees,” and throughout their menu, you can find symbols indicating dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Kabob and Curry serves Indian cuisine and is the longest-serving Indian restaurant in Rhode Island, according to their website.
Plant City is a vegan restaurant and another option that can accommodate many dietary restrictions. They have three main menus for dinner: Italian restaurant, Mexican restaurant, and American bistro. All three menus also state which items are gluten-free, soy-free, and nut-free. They also have a market where you can purchase certain vegan food items.
Hopefully, these recommendations will make picking a restaurant for a Valentine with dietary restrictions more approachable! Eat your heart out!
