Autumn Restart

A crisp breeze washing away the wallowing heat of summer

The smell of apples and cinnamon wafting through the air

A welcome reminder

That everything begins again

The leaves changing and falling from the trees

Preparing them for a new life, but not now

Their color matching that of pumpkin pies and candy corn

I see these signs of many a beautiful death

They're a reminder

To enjoy the world once more

I'm waking up

I'm coming back to life

I can't wait to see who I will be now
