Blood (A Halloween Poem)

Blood on the doorstop

Leading down the hall

I found it quite startling

Though not much blood at all

Down the hall I went

Creeping as quiet as I could

"SOS" read the text I sent

I hear a phone chime in the room

I opened the door ever so slowly

Dared not to peek around for a moment

Gathered my thoughts, my nerves

The smell growing potent

I pushed the door open with a creak

What a terrible sight I saw

It would make the strongest turn meek

She was all over the floors, the bed, and the wall
