Snickers, Butterfingers, Gummy Bears, Twizzlers, Hershey’s, Sour Patch, M & M’s, and every other candy on the face of the earth was given out the past weekend to trick or treaters, college parties, during Halloween movie watching, and every other event during Halloweekend. But have you ever thought about what the most popular candy during Halloween is? If you were to ask me, I would probably guess KitKat. Or even the classic Hershey’s bar. But the answer might shock you.
According to multiple sources on the web, the most popular candy in the United States is the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup! Shocking, considering this candy contains peanut butter, which many people are allergic to, and I feel like people don’t typically say Reese’s is their favorite candy.
Yet, when thinking about the iconic commercials and the pumpkin-shaped Reese’s that release during the fall, the campaigning is on point. The color palette and spooky voice narrating the commercials drag you in. When thinking about the actual flavor, the rich chocolate and creamy nutty peanut butter are the perfect combo when craving something not too sweet and not too salty. It has a balance of that sweet and salty combo, as well as fun shapes for holidays.
This begs the question: who wouldn’t crave a Reese’s after seeing one on your television screen?
